A Second Chance Autumn Pawfest

Well the show at the http://www.asecondchancerescue.org/ was alot of fun! The paw print cuffs were a hit and thanks to Lisa at a Second Chance posting the picture on their facebook page I had a couple of ladies come and place orders for one of their own!

I thought I would share a picture of my little booth set up I know I always like to see how others display their items. I brought a sampling of my loose beads as well as some I had wrapped for pendants and keychains, plus plenty of copper!
I also brought a good sampling of my Fused glass pieces and offered 50 % of the proceeds to be donated to the Rescue.

My friend Sam from http://www.samanthabeads.etsy.com sent me some of her adoreable creations and offered 100% of the proceeds to be donated to the rescue as well!

I was a bit early but being I havent done a show in so many years I wanted to have plenty of time to set up my tables and make a nice presentation. A little bit later myself and the girls on either side of me were moved to those parking spots behind us which got us closer to the action and also gave me a better view of all the puppies strutting their stuff in attempts to find their new forever homes!

And now here I am at the end of this post and I cant believe I didnt take any pictures of all the beautiful dogs that were there, well instead of pictures I will tell you 25 dogs and cats were adopted during this wonderful event, between my friend Samantha and I, we were able to donate $185.00 to A Second Chance Rescue a wonderful success if you ask me!

I am still nursing a terrible sunburn two days later and have vowed if ever I do another show I will invest in a tent!

Thank you for reading my ramblings now here is some cuteness for you watch https://www.facebook.com/?ref=tn_tnmn#!/photo.php?v=3832608344935 new puppies that will be available for adoption in about 3 weeks! Arent they the most adore a bull babies?! Yup you guessed it they are American Bully mixes and you know Im dying inside wanting one of my own!

After months away from the torch the weather is finally cooling down thanks to hurricane Sandy. I decided yesterday would be the day I would light my flame and melt some glass. I turned on the kiln to begin its warm up, brushed off the dried up leaves (dont ask) and the cobwebs and dust from my bench, got the music playing, propped open the garage door just enough to let in some fresh air but not be exposed to the wind gusts outside. I made myself a yummy berry smoothie, turned on the fan and plugged in the ventilation....... the time has come to torch! I turned on the propane..........hissssssssssssssss! Oh no! I checked the regulator to make sure it was screwed on tightly, turned the propane back on and hisssssssssssss! The valve on the propane tank is leaking! *Heavy Sigh* aaaaand.......... thats a wrap, shut it all down! :o/  I will live to fire up the torch another day!

As most of you know I have a very special place in my heart for homeless dogs and spend alot of time on facebook advocating for them. My girl BB was rescued at 8 weeks old, 1 day away from euthanasia, by a wonderful rescue called A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue. I was thrilled to be invited to join them at their Autumn Pawfest! I dont really do shows with my beads and jewelry but for this cause I could'nt imagine saying no. Now I am busy gearing up for this event, Im hoping to fire up my torch and get a few more beads made to include in my booth so wish for some cool days and an active muse for me will you?!

Check out all the dogs and cats they have available for adoption http://www.asecondchancerescue.org/

I made up some cuffs yesterday! I am trying to build up some inventory for the Dog Adoption event I will be selling at, on November 3rd. Tell you what I'll give you a sneak peek. The cuff on the right is pretty wide, I may just need to cut that one in half Ill have to think on that a bit! I hope you're having a great day!

Just a quickie today, I thought I would share my newly designed banner for my etsy shop and a logo design I made as well.  I had fun making these (well mostly) sometimes Photoshop can be a real pain in the butt! Ok well the banner is pretty small when I place it here but it fits on my Etsy shop page so there! Dont you love how perfectly the bead matches the graphic?! What a happy accident! Hope you are all having a great day!

Well here it is.... my new redesigned blog. Hopefully, I will do better with this one than the last, which was last posted to in April of 2009!

The big news of late, something I have not revealed to anyone until now, is that I have re-joined the Fire Divas, a group of Lampwork Artists I co-founded with the help of Melissa Vess who has moved on from the group as well and infact has begun a new adventure in baking! Im looking forward to working with the Divas again and reviving the spirit of the team!

I have been invited to do a show in conjunction with a cause near and dear to me, a dog apoption event put on by A Second Chance Rescue the very rescue that saved my girl BB from death row at the ripe old age of 8 weeks! Here she was when they saved her.

I have alot to do to get ready for the show, I have only ever done one and it was a dud but this is for a good cause so Im pretty excited about it!

I am also revamping my own business. Along with the blog, I designed and ordered new buisness cards last night and I cant wait to see them! The weather is beginning to cool down here in sunny south Florida, it wont be long now and I will be able to light my torch again and melt glass like the pyromaniac that I am!!

Thats it for now, I guess I better find some people who actually want to follow my blog so that Im not just here writing to myself!
